“This is the third time I have used His Workmanship. What made His Workmanship catch my eye is the Christian mission. I’ve had the crew out here to do a fairly large project for a new rosebed and they’ve been very hard workers and made the job a breeze. I would definitely recommend His Workmanship for landscaping projects.” – Mark

I have used His Workmanship for multiple landscaping projects now. I am always impressed by the clear communication when scheduling a project, the ease in getting a project scheduled for a time that is convenient for me and the speed in which they can fulfill my requests. Eric is quick to respond and keeps me updated from start to finish. His teams have always been very efficient, competitively priced, courteous, professional, and I have been highly satisfied after the completion of each job. I have personally used His Workmanship for landscaping clean up, weeding, pruning, and general yard work and would recommend them to anyone looking for convenient, affordable, reliable, and professional service.
Mark and Austin were nice young men who showed up to get the work done today. 10 yards of mulch and edging done in very hot weather. They did a great job, I’m very happy with the service and company all around! 5 stars, would recommend!!
Danny and Chris showed up early to the job. They are both professional, courteous and pleasant. They asked good questions during the job and did everything to my husband's expectations. He keeps saying, "It looks much than if I would have done it myself." Thank you His Workmanship!
Great communication. Workers were outstanding. They completed the job with expert workmanship. They were fast completing the job and also completed other tasks. Would definitely have them do more work for me.
Elijah and Jasir are incredible workers. They worked very hard in hot and humid weather and did a great job. They are polite, conscientious, thorough, and professional. I have hired His Workmanship for several projects in the past and they consistently do great work. I highly recommend this service.
As a senior I found myself getting behind on some yard chores so I reached out for help from His Workmanship. The weeding prior to spreading 35 bags of mulch was successful and looks great. The crew was polite, hard working and respectful of our property.
The two young men sent to work on our yard were gracious, friendly, and polite. They completed a very difficult project without taking a break. We have used this company twice and have been very happy both times. I highly recommend them.
My wife and I hired this company to pull weeds and lay mulch in our many flower beds at our home. The weeds had gotten way out of hand. Adam and Logan worked over 6 hours in over 90F hot sun and did a terrific job! Both of them are great young men and worked very hard. Their work was excellent, 5 stars! The communication was prompt, accurate, and professional. The price is very fair for the value created. Would highly them to anyone looking for landscaping!
Great work done by two very thoughtful and ambitious young men.
His Workmanship did a wonderful job with our flower beds! I will not hesitate to call if I need their services again!
Eric was very responsive to my initial inquiry and was able to schedule a fairly large weed removal project in just a few days time. The crew that provided the service were on time, very respectful, and did a great job. Highly recommend!
I've never hired anyone to help me in my garden project of 50 years. My property is woodsy and a new weed has come in to take over. I felt overwhelmed. I found His Workmanship online and liked what I saw. I hired them for 3 hours to try them out. Bottom line, much more needs to be done. They gave me ideas, however, to control this invasion. More grass! So insightful. They gave me a new peace of mind about my garden. It was almost like a therapy session for me, too! As a retired high school teacher of many years, I worked beside them and learned so much about these fine young men from Crown College. It was a rewarding experience all around. I would highly recommend this company. ✌🏽❤️🙏🏼
Very kind and hardworking guys who helped us move into our new home. Highly recommend!!
My workers came on time, were very courteous and explained everything they were doing, I have more work to be done, and I will be contacting this service,
The service was fantastic. We hired them for weeding and it was a lot of work; they did the work that most other yard services won't do. They weeded garden beds, rock walls, landscaped areas and did a fantastic job. They were knowledgable about garden work, and I just showed them what to do and they knew exactly how to go about it. Will definitely use them again, and highly recommend them.
Wow! After trying to find a landscaper on Google, I found His Workmanship. I contacted them, and everything was easy after that. Very responsive and candid about the costs, so I knew what to expect. They arrived and kept me posted when they were on the way. It was such a positive experience. The quality was good! The guys were so friendly and polite. Paying options made it easy! I like the idea that the funds are being used for a positive cause.
I emailed His Workmanship over Memorial Day weekend and by the first week of June my pesky, overgrown hydrangeas were gone, dug up and hauled away by a hardworking, prompt and courteous team. Thank you!
Both young men did an excellent job. This is my third experience with His Workmanship and each experience has been outstanding. 2024 I again hired His Workmanship, and as always I am very pleased with the outcome.

2025 -4th season
Eric has a great system for providing assistance for those who are looking for extra help. The young people are college age and don't have a lot of experience, i.e. today they installed landscape lighting, but are eager to learn and are hard workers. I showed them what to do and they did it effectively and efficiently...the lights all worked. They, as in the past, we're right on time and went to work straight away! Looking forward to this assistance again next summer!!
The crew made quick work of cleaning up my over-grown yard. From the first step to completion, the His Workmanship team was responsive, professional, and efficient. I will definitely use them again and happily recommend them.
Both Ella and Austin are very hard workers and got the mulching for our yard done. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Most gardeners for hire charge on an hourly basis. Prices tend to range from $40 – $50 per hour. For gardeners who charge toward the higher side, you should make sure they can identify your garden plants and the various types of weeds. Gardeners who have cheaper prices tend to have less experience, such as high schoolers or college students. If you decide to go the cheap route, you should keep a close eye on the kids and be very clear about what you want. Tell the gardeners what weeds you need pulled, where you want the bulbs planted, how to split the hostas and when to water your garden beds. Don’t just assume they will know these things. Gardening services usually include planting bulbs, pulling weeds and watering the garden.

From late October through mid November is the best time to winterize your garden. There are several components involved in this process so it’s important to do your research before starting your project. Since most plants will be dead, you will need a shovel to dig out the plants and a yard waste bin to remove the debris. Some plants won’t need to be entirely removed, so you should grab a shears to prune back the overgrowth and deadhead the hostas. This would also be a good time to divide hostas, split them into batches, and transplant them in new spots. Don’t forget to protect sensitive plants by wrapping them in frost blankets or burlap for the colder winter season.
Starting in late March and going through mid April, that’s your ideal timeframe to prep your garden for spring. Without a vision the garden perishes, so plan ahead by thinking about how you want your garden to look for the upcoming season. Think about plant variety, color arrangement, big vs. small sizes, sun vs. shade, water drainage, location distribution and bloom times. Once you have a concrete plan, it’s time to purchase plants and flowers. Having sharp and relevant garden tools is essential for installing plants so don’t forget to buy those from your local hardware store.

Spring is typically the best time to begin a new garden though plants can be added in spring or fall, depending on the specific type of plant. Plants that flourish in cold temperatures, such as kale and pansies, can be planted in fall or winter. Annuals and tomatoes can be planted when temperatures warm up and after the last frost of the season. Feel free to plant perennials in mid-spring or mid-fall. If you want to start seeds indoors, then most annuals and vegetables can be planted in early March. Annuals such as begonias and impatiens shouldn’t be planted outdoors until May to avoid colder temperatures.

Soil that is rich with nutrients is key for having a flourishing garden, so it’s worth investing in premium grade soil. Peat moss enhances the ability of soil to retain nutrients and moisture. Compost like manure will boost fertility and enrich soil. Potting moss contains nutrients that help plants grow in containers. The most common blend of soil for plant growth has been described as loam. Often referred to as topsoil or black dirt by landscape companies, loam is a mixture of sand, clay, and silt. The estimated mixture is roughly 40% sand, 40% silt and 20% clay. Loamy soil has high water retention capacity and preserves nutrients needed for plant growth.
