Troy has a public library, a branch of the Troy-Miami County Public Library. Troy is home to the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, a 1914 Romanesque mansion donated to the city by Mary Jane Harter Coleman Hayner. Hayner had been the wife of William Hayner, founder of a Dayton-based mail order whiskey business. On August 30, 2013 Mumford & Sons had a concert in the Troy High School football stadium for their Gentlemen of the Road Stopover tour.
