“This is the third time I have used His Workmanship. What made His Workmanship catch my eye is the Christian mission. I’ve had the crew out here to do a fairly large project for a new rosebed and they’ve been very hard workers and made the job a breeze. I would definitely recommend His Workmanship for landscaping projects.” – Mark

The two young men came on time and worked hard. They had to dig out small trees and lots of weeds and get their roots too. They had a quick lunch and were nice to talk to.
Excellent service! My yard looks wonderful after they pulled all the weeds in my yard. Would highly recommend!
The crew arrived early. I showed them the areas where I wanted them to work, and they started. Both workers were courteous and efficient. I highly recommend His Workmanship for your landscaping needs.
I live in a condo and I am an elderly disabled woman unable to take care of a small garden for which I am responsible. I reached out to Eric at His Workmanship and received an immediate response. We discussed my particular needs (weeding), fees, and availability. All communication was quick. The two young men who arrived, Willem and Zach, were on time, polite, respectful and most of all, kind. They did an excellent job of clearing the area of weeds, cleared the area from all debri, and asked my preferences on things. I would definitely recommended using this service. I was very impressed not only with the EXCELLENT quality of work, but also their work ethic and attitude.
This team was a great help with our landscaping project and we look forward to having them back!
His Workmanship is my new go to crew, Tobin, Chris, Danny and Eli, did a great job, and were all very nice young men. Thank you for the awesome job!
Super impressed with the swiftness and quality of their work!! They did a stellar job removing the dead bushes and unearthing the living landscaping bushes from the jungle of weeds left by the previous owner of our new house. It looks absolutely amazing!! Will definitely hire them again for any future projects that arise.
Fantastic! highly recommend!!
They did an incredible job!!! We had SO many weeds that it seemed overwhelming. I’m so glad We gave the company a try!
I hired His Workmanship to clear out some seriously overgrown weeds and brush in my yard, and they did an amazing job. Fast, thorough, and left everything looking clean and tidy. Communication was great from start to finish. Highly recommend if you need yard cleanup or weed removal!
Hard working. On time. More than met expectations. Monique
Jared and Jaran were careful, conscientious, respectful and skilled. They did everything we needed to make our yard beautiful. We can't wait to welcome them back!
Highly recommend! Efficient, polite, and highly quality.
The crew arrived on time and were courteous and focused on the task at hand which was to trench 2 new gutter downspouts each 25 feet into the yard including installation of catchment reservoirs for leaves and roof shingle sand and rain pop up emitters. They were careful in removing and reinstalling the sod and back filling the soil packing it down densely making sure the pitch of the drains stayed proper and stable. There was very little refuse soil that needed to be hauled way. In the end, the yard did not look disturbed post installation. The only criticism about the job was trying to use Zelle for payment. Even though we have used it before, when the bill is >$1000 the bank puts a hold on the transfer and you have to call them to verify the transaction and this process is very slow from their end. It took 45 minutes using the Zelle call system and we ended up giving a personal check instead. Zelle is not worth our precious time and it would be better if His Workmsnship would readily accept personal checks or credit cards. Other than this we were very pleased with the work done
Quick response time and scheduling. Very satisfied with thorough work of team and would recommend to anyone who needs help fast! Our yard looks amazing!
Showed up exactly on time and worked so hard they got everything done much faster than expected.

Will use again.
Needed their help with a flowerbed gone wild. With the recent rains the problem just grew and grew literally. The crew was on time and came prepared. What a load off my mind and back!
The guys were on time and so nice. They worked hard and communicated throughout the whole time
Every single step was seamless and so polite and professional. Ethan and Austin worked so hard in the heat they were just awesome!
Without question the next time we will be reaching out to His Workmanship
Before and after pics below
The weeding crew that came was efficient and followed my instructions very well. They avoided all my plants and targeted all the weeds. I really appreciated the work of this crew and I look forward to working with them again soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some landscape companies charge by the hour and others charge per linear foot. Hourly rates range from $40 – $50 per hour. The standard charge per linear foot is between $3 and $6. So if you need 100 linear feet installed, it’ll cost $300 – $600. It usually takes 1 person 1 hour to install 10 linear feet. It should be noted that the cost to install paver edging is higher than plastic edging. Also, prices will increase if the terrain is hilly and the soil is hard.

The purpose of edging is to separate the lawn from the garden beds. Edging keeps the mulch, rock and dirt in the garden bed where it belongs and out of the grass where it shouldn’t be. While edging isn’t necessary, by not having it you risk wind and rain water pushing out mulch and dirt into your yard, which is a mowing hazard.

Unless you want to do a natural edging border with a small trench, the two most popular edging options are black plastic and bullet paver. They each have pros and cons. Plastic edging is much cheaper to buy and it’s the option that most homeowners go with. The downside is that it can be damaged by a lawn mower and can crease along curves. Paver edging is more expensive but it won’t get ruined by a lawnmower. If you can afford it, paver edging is higher quality, looks better, and will last longer.

It doesn’t need to but it can. The purpose of landscape fabric is to prevent weeds from growing through and into your garden beds. So the fabric should go right up to the edging but it doesn’t need to go under it. However, it could be helpful to back tuck the excess fabric underneath the edging to secure the fabric in the ground.

The ultimate goal is to make sure the paver edging bricks are level with one another. The brick edging should be 1/2 inch above the garden beds to ensure the mulch, rocks or dirt don’t spill over into the grass. Play sand can help facilitate level bricks especially if the ground is rocky and uneven. However, in most cases, just laying pavers on the dirt will suffice. Foregoing sand will also save you time and money.

Make sure the top of the edging is about 1 inch above the garden bed. It should not be flush with it because then the mulch or rock in the bed will spill over into the grass. The whole point of edging is to guard against that happening. Once the edging is installed, you should backfill dirt on both sides of the edging. This will help secure it in place and keep it from dislodging.

After you’ve dug your trench and laid the edging, you will need to stake it down before filling the trench back up with dirt. The purpose of hammering in edging stakes is to secure the edging in the ground so it doesn’t shift over time. In straight areas, you should install one stake every 8-10 feet. Around curves, you should install one stake every 4-5 feet.

You should ask for a ballpark estimate on the total cost for your flower bed edging. Be prepared to tell the edging company what type of edging you have, how many linear feet you’ve ordered and where you need it installed. Ask the edging service how long they’ve been doing it and what their process is like. Google their company name to make sure they have good reviews online. My name is Daniel and this is my first summer helping residential homeowners through His Workmanship. I used to attend the same church as the owner so that is how I learned about this amazing opportunity. To be honest, I really enjoy finding customers through a referral company that so clearly reflects the Christian faith in their business model. The cherry on top is that a $20 discount is offered to everyone who reads a certain passage in the Bible.
